Henry Savage, President

Henry Savage founded PMC Mortgage Corporation in Alexandria, Virginia in 1992 after receiving his MBA from American University.  “MBA’s were a dime a dozen back then and no one would hire me so I incorporated”, recalls Henry.  “The mission was simple: keep overhead low, offer the most competitive terms, and engage as a fiduciary rather than a salesperson.”

Over the past 30 years, the small size of PMC was by design.  “If you rapidly grow your company when interest rates fall, two things are guaranteed to happen: your customer service will decline and you risk financial instability when interest rates rise again.  I didn’t want to do that”.

Henry is recognized as an expert and consumer advocate in the mortgage arena.  He was the weekly “Mortgage Q&A” columnist for The Washington Times from 1997-2012 and a columnist for The Realty Times from 2001-2007.  Henry has been interviewed by CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, The Washington Post and more to discuss mortgage matters.  Most recently, Henry was one of 12 Advisory Council members of United Wholesale Mortgage.

Henry lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with Kathleen, his wife of 32 years.  They have two young adult children who were both recently married.  His daughter Charlotte and her husband Giorgi live in Brooklyn.  Henry’s son Will and his wife Jacklyn recently purchased a home in Bluffton, South Carolina.

When Henry isn’t flapping his jaw about mortgages, you will find him playing the drums in his rock band, fishing the creeks of Charleston, or skiing down a mountain somewhere.

Erin Taylor Meyer, Company Manager/Loan Originator

Erin Taylor Meyer was born in Cullman, Alabama, and moved to the Charleston area after graduating with a Marketing Degree from Auburn University. She joined PMC in 2009 as a part-time assistant to Henry.  Due to the falling interest rate climate at that time, Erin soon became the sole loan processor for the South Carolina office and she later obtained her Loan Originator license in 2014.  In addition to her duties as a loan processor, Erin also manages the day-to-day operations of the company.
